Malindu Ehelagasthenna graduated from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Honours in Mechanical Engineering. For his bachelor’s design/research thesis, he worked on the design and development of an alternating pressure overlay for the treatment of pressure ulcers. This project received the Final Year Project Award from the IMechE Sri Lanka Group, and its novel outcomes were applied for IP protection. After completing his bachelor’s degree, in 2022, Malindu joined Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom to pursue his doctoral studies under the title “The Integration of Haptic Technology in Textiles.” He is currently a second-year doctoral candidate at the Nottingham School of Art & Design.
